Minecraft™ Designers and Animators (Updated!)

minecraft illustrationGrades 4–8

Sign-in Location: Library, Room 1004C

Bring your favorite Minecraft™ characters to life in an animated short film! Learn how studios like Pixar and Disney make movies like Inside Out and Frozen using techniques like keyframing, tweening, texturing, and animating rigged 3-D models! Discover the basics of modding and the foundations of programming, and learn scripting and logic statements as you create your first mod! Introductory coding is also taught through a simulated environment inspired by Minecraft.™

To broaden exposure to the arts, Minecraft™ Designers and Animators can be combined with 3-D Video Game and Makers Lab Creations (new!), Code Breakers and App Designers, the Songwriting Workshop, Creative Vocal Lab, Young Actors, Youth Musical Theatre, Young Artists (updated!), Young Journalists, Creating Comic Books, and/or Young Photographers to make for a well-rounded summer experience.

Session III: July 25–August 5

$1,200 for the first registration
$1,080 for the second registration in the family, Purchase College employees and alumni, and early registrations (received by May 6, 2016)

About the Instructors

This program is designed by Black Rocket, an educational technology company that specializes in emerging technologies and instruction. Black Rocket has more than a decade of experience designing camps in the STEM and digital arts fields. Every program is powered by the campers’ innate imaginations and designed to bring their ideas to life in a fun, hands-on learning environment. From concept to creation, students will demonstrate their masterpiece to the world at the end of each week! All Black Rocket programs mirror real-life experiences and the collaborative nature of the design process. Students will work in pairs or teams for most of the program.
