Summer 2015 Youth Programs in the Arts:
Minecraft™ Designers and Modders

minecraft illustrationGrades 4–8

Sign in Location: Library, 1004C

Design your own characters and buildings for your Minecraft™ games. Learn the basics of creating 3-D models, using new software to design your own objects, create skins for characters, and import them into your favorite Minecraft™ games. Discover the basics of modding and the foundations of programming, and learn scripting and logic statements as you create your first mod! Introductory coding is also taught through a simulated environment inspired by Minecraft.™

To broaden exposure to the arts, Minecraft™ Designers and Modders can be combined with Video Game Creators and Animators, Code Breakers and App Designers, Young Artists, Young Architects, Youth Musical Theatre, Shakespeare Workshop, Young Photographers, Young Filmmakers, the Songwriting Workshop, and/or Vocal Intensive to make for a well-rounded summer experience.

Session II: July 13–24
Monday–Friday, 9:30 a.m.–3:30 p.m.
$1,200 for the first registration
$1,080 for the second registration in the family, Purchase College employees and alumni, and early registrations (received by May 8, 2015)

About the Instructors

This program is designed by Black Rocket, an educational technology company that specializes in emerging technologies and instruction. Black Rocket has more than a decade of experience designing camps in the STEM and digital arts fields. Every program is powered by the campers’ innate imaginations and designed to bring their ideas to life in a fun, hands-on learning environment. From concept to creation, students will demonstrate their masterpiece to the world at the end of each week! All Black Rocket programs mirror real-life experiences and the collaborative nature of the design process. Students will work in pairs or teams for most of the program.
