Tuition and Fees: Fall 2012–Summer 2013

NONCREDIT TUITION and FEES
Noncredit tuition rates are the same for New York State and out-of-state residents. In addition to tuition, a $25 nonrefundable noncredit registration fee (per student) is paid once per semester, at the time of registration.

Students who register only for noncredit courses are not required to pay certain fees (e.g., college, health, ID, technology, transcript), but are responsible for any lab fees listed in the course description(s) and for parking costs. Obtaining or renewing a Purchase College student ID (More Card) is encouraged, but not required.

CREDIT TUITION and FEES

Tuition and fees are authorized by the State of New York Board of Trustees and are subject to change. Fall 2013 rates will be posted as soon as they are available. Credit tuition and fees currently listed on this page are valid through summer session 2013 only.

In the fall and spring semesters, the following applies to nonmatriculated students only. (Liberal studies and other Purchase College matriculated students: Please refer to Student Financial Services information.)

In winter session and summer session, the following applies to all students.

  • Credit tuition rates, established by the SUNY Board of Trustees, are higher for out-of-state residents.
  • Students in the U.S. on temporary visas (e.g., F-1 or J-1) are considered out-of-state students for credit tuition purposes.
  • For residents of Fairfield County, Conn., the reduced part-time tuition rate is $267 per credit for nonmatriculated students. No more than 30 credits taken at this rate may be applied toward a degree program at Purchase College.

Fees shown in the Schedules of Credit Tuition and Fees include:

  • Fall and spring, 1–11.5 credits (part-time, nonmatriculated):
    Campus services fee: $3.67 per credit
    College fee: .85 per credit
    Student ID: $15 per semester
    Technology fee: $19.58 per credit
    Transcript fee: $5 per semester
     
  • Fall and spring, 12 or more credits (full-time, nonmatriculated):
    Campus services fee: $44 per semester
    College fee: $12.50 per semester
    Student ID: $15 per semester
    Technology fee: $235 per semester
    Transcript fee: $5 per semester
     
  • Winter session:
    College fee: .85 per credit
    Technology fee: $19.58 per credit
    Transcript fee: $5 total
     
  • Summer session:
    Campus services fee: $3.67 per credit
    College fee: .85 per credit
    Health fee: $5 total
    Student ID: $15 total
    Technology fee: $19.58 per credit
    Transcript fee: $5 total

Summer session students, please note:

  1. According to NY State policy, all students must pay for summer session courses on a per-credit basis. There are no special rates for 12 or more credits. Please refer to the Course Load policy for the maximum allowable credits that can be taken without overload approval.
  2. The campus services fee is capped at $44 (12 or more credits).
  3. If a student registers for credit courses in more than one summer session, the $5 health fee, $15 student ID fee, and $5 transcript fee are only paid once.
  4. Students registering only for an online credit course do not obtain or renew a More Card. Purchase College matriculated students who have a valid 2012–13 More Card also do not pay the $15 student ID fee in summer session 2013. If either of these applies, subtract $15 from the one-time fees and total shown in the applicable summer session charts on this page.
  5. Students taking courses at the Rockland Community College extension site should add a $68.30 RCC campus fee per course regardless of their residency.

ALL STUDENTS, PLEASE NOTE:

  1. Students registering only for an online credit course do not obtain or renew a More Card. If this applies, subtract $15 from the one- time fees and total shown in the applicable tuition chart on this page.
  2. Students who will be parking on campus: The vehicle registration/parking decal fee is in addition to the fees listed on the following schedules and is paid separately after registration.
  3. Remember to add lab fees, when applicable, to the fees listed in the following schedules.

LAB FEES, which are subject to approval by the SUNY Board of Trustees, are assessed for extraordinary costs associated with a particular course. Lab fees must be added to the payments for credit and noncredit courses when applicable, and are nonrefundable after the add/drop period. (Lab fees are listed in the course description when applicable.)
