Professional certificate programs are ideal for busy adults who are seeking a career change, honing career skills, or pursuing a passion and want a focused course of study that can be completed within a short timeframe.

Purchase College offers both noncredit and credit professional certificate programs. Students may take individual courses without commitment to an entire program, or complete the program requirements and earn a certificate. The certificate serves as proof of program completion and can have different meanings to people and organizations.

Continuing Education Units

Certificate programs are also useful for professionals who seek to earn Continuing Education Units (CEUs) as part of their career development. The noncredit professional certificate programs marked with an asterisk (*) grant CEUs upon successful completion of the program. The number of CEUs varies by program.

For Certified Fundraising Executives (CFRE)

The curricula for the noncredit professional certificate programs in fundraising and board development and nonprofit management have been approved for continuing education points by CFRE International. The number of CFRE points varies by program.

Hybrid and Online Courses

Some certificate programs are offered partly or completely in an online or hybrid course format.
