Minor in English and Comparative Literature

The minor in English and comparative literature is designed to provide students with an opportunity to study literature in a comparative context. Students interested in the minor should submit a completed Application for a Program of Minor Study to the faculty coordinator of the Literature Board of Study.

Academic Requirements for the Minor
in English and Comparative Literature

Five courses in English and comparative literature, as follows:

  1. Two 2000-level courses or
    one 1000-level and one 2000-level course
  2. Three upper-level (3000- or 4000-level) courses
  3. Of the five courses, two must chosen from two different literature sequences.
  4. Of the five courses, one must be comparative.
