Recent Faculty Books: Instructions for Faculty

The Recent Faculty Books site is intended to feature books (co-)written or (co-)edited by faculty members within the past two years. Second or new editions of books published more than two years ago (e.g., a new paperback edition of a book originally published in hardback) and catalog raisonnés (of arts faculty) are also welcome.

To have a new or recent book added to Recent Faculty Books, please email the following information to the director of communications for academic affairs:

1. Your primary academic program (board of study) at Purchase
2. Book title, publisher, and date of publication (month and year); and
3. Best: A link to the book on the publisher’s site (with book jacket photo); or a link to the book on a reseller site (Amazon, etc.)

About book jacket photos:
To reproduce properly online, the book jacket photo needs to be in jpeg format and at least 2 to 2-1/4 inches wide (a larger one can be sized down, but sizing a small one up can produce poor results).

Please note:
The Recent Faculty Books site is not intended for the following; please email news about these publications to Carrie Bianchi in the President’s Office for inclusion in Faculty/Staff Footnotes:

• articles, book reviews, or translations published in various journals
• essays published in art exhibition catalogs
• articles or other works published online only
• artwork included in a book

The Library typically purchases faculty publications and encourages faculty members to donate copies of their works when they can, and to notify the Library via the Ask a Librarian service when a new publication is forthcoming.
