Graduate music majors who concentrate in piano must meet the following conservatory requirements (42 credits) and earn a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA at Purchase College. MPE 5565 may be taken in a different semester in consultation with the head of the piano program.

Updates to the 2011–13 College Catalog:

Effective Fall 2013:

  • MPE 5991/Master’s Recital has been reduced from 2 credits to 1 credit, MPE 5610 has been reduced from 1.5 to 1 credit, and MPE 5495 has been reduced from 3 to 2 credits. MPE 5480, formerly required in the second year, fall semester, is now required each semester, and one two-credit music theory/analysis elective has been eliminated in the first year, spring semester. The total conservatory requirements are reduced from 45 to 42 credits.

Effective Fall 2012:

  • Credits reduced from 2 to 1 in MPE 5480/Piano Performance Class.
