Student/Faculty Affairs Coordinator

Description:  The School of Art+Design at Purchase College, SUNY, seeks candidates for the position of Student/Faculty Affairs Coordinator. This position is the primary contact for faculty and students in the Art+Design office. Managing faculty affairs, including curricular and personnel review processes; and managing student advisement from Freshman Orientation through clearance for graduation, form the fundamental aspects of the position. Duties include the tasks associated with student advising, teaching the Art+Design Freshman Seminar course, maintining student academic records, managing faculty affairs (including support for faculty meetings and area head meetings), the management of personnel reviews, proofreading and drafting of correspondence, and other general administrative work to support the Dean and Assistant Dean of the School. The position reports to the  Dean and supervises student workers.

 

Qualifications:  Bachelor's Degree in fine art/design or related field and 3-5 years relevant experience with students & faculty in a professional art/design school setting required OR an MFA in fine art/design and 1 year relevant rexperience in a professional art/design school setting required. Position begins August 4, 2008: applications will be accepted until July 14, 2008.

 

 

Salary: $42,000
