Description: SUNY Purchase is currently seeking candidates for the position of Stockroom Technician to run the day-today operations of the Natural Science’s stockroom. The stockroom inventories include over two-thousand different types of chemicals and several thousand different types of scientific notions and glassware, as well as more common supplies and hardware needed for the operation of a science instructional and research program. In addition, the stockroom provides shipping and receiving services, works with the college Health and Safety Officer, and maintains the inventory of major equipment.
Bachelor’s degree in one of the sciences, preferably with a strong background in chemistry; the ability to work well with faculty, staff, students and other units on campus; excellent customer-service skills, good computer skills helpful. Organization, neatness and excellent recordkeeping skills are also important aspects of this position.
