Description: The School of Art+Design at Purchase College, SUNY, invites applications for multiple positions of one or two courses each at the rank of Adjunct Lecturer in the Graphic Design program.
We are seeking practicing, passionate Graphic Designers with expert design skills and teaching experience within a comprehensive professional program. Positions encompass multiple levels of the college’s undergraduate professional design curriculum, including foundation design, typography, production for designers, web design, interactive design, motion graphics, book arts, and senior capstone mentorship. Qualifications: Advanced degree (MFA) or commensurate experience as well as a demonstrated capability in teaching, strong professional practice, sophisticated design, and excellent communication skills required. Applicant’s work should demonstrate a clear understanding of design processes, research, and methodology. Expertise in current design technology/practice and experience teaching graphic design/digital media within a comprehensive professional program also required. Candidates must be proficient in traditional media as well as newer digital media types.
Application should include letter of application, CV, teaching philosophy, and contact information of three references, accompanied by a CD-ROM (web and interactive candidates should include live URLs) documenting 20 examples of student work and 20 examples of your own professional, creative work.
Salary: $3,500 to $5000 per course unit
