ADJUNCT FACULTY: LECTURERS

 

Department: The School of Liberal Studies & Continuing Education

 

The School of Liberal Studies & Continuing Education (LSCE) at Purchase College, SUNY is currently accepting applications for adjunct faculty positions, contracted on a course by course basis for the Purchase College campus as well as for its extension sites in Suffern and Peekskill, New York.  The School of Liberal Studies & Continuing Education supports the evening adult degree completion program and also serves the College and the community year-round.  In addition, LSCE also runs the College’s Summer Session consisting of 4 sessions including day and evening courses.  Openings vary through summer 2009 depending on the semester.  Subject areas include but are not limited to:

 

  • African Studies (History, Culture, Race Relations)
  • Art (Sculpture, Photography, Woodwork, etc.)
  • Arts Management
  • Business/Economics
  • Communications/Media Studies
  • Film Production & History
  • Foreign Languages
  • History (Western and Non-Western)
  • Legal Studies
  • Math/Computer Science
  • Music/Music History
  • Philosophy
  • Political Science
  • Psychology
  • Sciences (All)
  • Sociology/Anthropology/Women’s Studies
  • Writing (Advanced)

 

A terminal degree and college level teaching experience are preferred.  The starting adjunct salary for a 3 or 4 credit course is $2300.  Please email a cover letter, resume and list of at least three references directly to:
