Campus Technology Services (CTS) manages and operates computer labs around the campus including:
Hours: Most CTS computer labs are open from 8:30am to 9:45pm - but the computer labs in the Library are open whenever the library is open. Those hours are 8 am to 2am on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Hours on Friday are 8 am to 10 pm and Saturday 11 am to 8 pm. Please look at the specific labs for the exact hours as well as software and other equipment.

CTS Digital Media Zone (DMZ) - New Location is LIB 1015
Since its opening in 2007, the CTS DMZ has proven to be a popular destination for students. With comfy couches and a mix of high-end and basic media tools and equipment, the DMZ was an instant hit. The College has expanded the DMZ and moved it to the main floor of the Library in room 1015.
The DMZ has three new Mac Labs in 1015A, 1015B, and 1015C. Also included are 2 Audio Stations in 1015D and 1015E, DMZ Information Commons Media Labs, black and white and color laser printers, and some scanners are available.
The DMZ Lab consists of:
Three Mac Labs - Three digital media labs (1015A, B, C) consist of 17, 17, and 13 computers, respectively. The machines in Lab B contain firewire for connecting peripherals such as hard drives or video cameras. Labs A and B have 3 60" TVs and Lab C has a digital projector. All three labs have Mac Pro teaching stations. DV Video cameras and Flip Video cameras are available for checkout from CTS (basement of Social Sciences Building).

Digital Audio Suites - 2 Mac Pro stations (Labs 1015D and E) with 30-Inch Monitors, Digidesign 003 Factory Control Interface, Power Conditioner, Studio Headphones, and Semi-Weighted 88 Key MIDI Keyboards. Software installed on these workstations includes: Pro Tools 8 and 7.4 LE*, BFD II, Komplete 5, Finale 2009, Sibelius 5, Digital Performer 6, Toast, and Various Pro Tools Plugins including those in the Music Production Toolkit from Digidesign. "Audiophile" quality headphones are available for checkout from the Circulation Desk in the Library. Because these computers are meant for music production, they are not connected to a printer.
DMZ Information Commons Media Labs- On the Library first floor (1015) contains 24 PCs and 14 Macs as well as one color and one black and white laser printer.
DMZ Orienteers- Student Orienteers are available to provide you with assistance using the various applications and workstations in the DMZ. CTS Orienteers are on duty in the DMZ from 4:30 PM to 8:30 PM Monday through Sunday.
This lab is available for use when there is no class or other event scheduled in the lab.

The Library Computer Labs (Library 1004C, 1004D, Reference, Info Commons)
There are several computer labs in the Library. Library 1004C (40 PCs) and Library 1004D (30 PCs) are located on the main floor. The dividing wall between the two can be retracted to create one large room. Each room has a Smart teaching podium with a computer, a Sympodium interactive pen display, projector, DVD, and VCR. They both include a black and white laser printer.
The Library Reference area on the main floor contains 24 PCs as well as two black and white laser printers.

New Media Labs- Natural Science 1013 NS 1013 is a New Media lab. The lab is open Monday-Thursday from 8:30 am to 9:45 pm and Friday 8:30 am to 5:45 pm. It is available for out-of-class use by students when classes are not in session. The class schedule will be posted outside the lab.
This lab contains Mac Pro Workstations with 24" Mac cinema displays. It includes a color laser printer. Software installed in this lab includes dual boot OS X and XP. The Mac platform has Adobe Creative Suite 5 Design Premium, Final Cut Pro, Office 2011, iLife11, iWork09, Firefox, Chrome, Flip4Mac, Burn, VLC, Audacity, Blender, Cyberduck, and FileZilla. The Windows platform has Adobe Creative Suite Master Collection 5 as well as Autodesk Entertainment and Engineering suites. CTS recently installed several dv decks and preview monitors which makes this an excellent resource for video production work.
Art+Design Computer Labs: There are a variety of computer labs in Art+Design. Many are heavily booked for classes, and many are small specialty labs that can only be used by A+D students. |
