Please make sure you type only your username (firstname.lastname) in the “username” field; not your full email address (firstname.lastname@purchase.edu).  Please make sure you type your current password correctly and that your new password is typed correctly twice.  Please keep in mind your new password must adhere to the following rules:

Your password MUST be at least 8 characters long and contain at least 1 character from 3 of the four groups below:

an uppercase letter.

a lowercase letter.

a numeral (0 thru 9).

a Special character (non-alphanumeric) (e.g., *, %, &, !, @, ^, (, etc.).

The space may be used in creating a password, or pass phrase.   The space is not required and does not count as a Special character, but does improve the complexity of a password.   Most people find it easier to remember pass phrases than complex passwords.   Combining words, spaces, digits and special characters can make a pass phrase that is both easy to remember and hard to guess.

For example, I’ll always have eyes 4 U is a valid password.

Your password SHOULD NOT be related to any personal information (e.g. your name, age, SSN, family, username).

Your password SHOULD NOT be a password you use for any other service (e.g. voicemail, ISP, AOL).

Note to AOL users: If you are using AOL, please minimize your AOL browser and open the web page with Internet Explorer when activating or accessing your account.
