Provides up to $15,000 to assist scholars planning  to write an article-length manuscript & who report their findings in scholarly publications to enhance the status of Canadian Studies in the U.S. Eligible areas are the social sciences, business, journalism, environment, humanities, law, & trade, all with relevance to Canada or in the context of its bilateral or North American relationships. 2) Program: Conference/Seminar/Workshop Grants & Travel Grants                              

     Agency: Chiang Ching-kuo Foundation

     Next Deadline: Sep 15, 2008

Supports the study of Chinese culture & society. Conference & Seminar Grants provide up to $25,000 for institutions to host conferences & workshops on specific subjects related to Chinese studies.  Funding is also available for conference proceedings & the first 2 issues of a new periodical. Travel Grants fund travel (of up to $1,000) for professors to present papers on Chinese studies. Universities are limited to one application per department per competition. 3) Program: NEA American Masterpieces: Presenting

     Agency: National Endowment for the Arts

This program sponsors performances, exhibitions, tours, & ed progs across all art forms that will reach underserved populations. This component of American Masterpieces will celebrate the collaborative genius, evolution, diversity, & cultural contribution of artistic presentations.  Awards range from $10,000 to $100,000.
