2) Program: Teaching Development Fellowships

Supports teachers pursuing research that deepens their core knowledge in the humanities in order to improve their undergraduate teaching. Projects must improve an existing undergraduate course that has been taught in at least three different terms and will continue to be taught by the applicant. Awards are up to $21,000. Applicants whose part-time teaching positions at different colleges or universities amount to the equivalent of full-time teaching loads are also eligible.

6) Program: Digital Humanities Start-Up Grants

Supports planning or initial stages of digital initiatives in all areas of the humanities. 9) Program: DFG/NEH Bilateral Digital Humanities Enriching Digital Collections

NEH and DFG are working together to offer support for digitization projects in the humanities. These grants provide funding for up to three years of development in the following areas: new digitization projects and pilot projects; the addition of important materials to existing digitization projects; and the development of related infrastructure to support international digitization work and the use of those digitized resources. Each application must be sponsored by at least one eligible German individual or institution, and at least one U.S. institution, and there must be a project director from each country.
