SPRING CLOSINGS

 

Spring Break

Residence Halls (Big Haus, Crossroads, Farside, Outback & Fort Awesome)

All residence halls close during spring break.  Residents should make travel arrangements prior to closing.

 

Apartments (The Olde, Alumni Village & The Commons)

Apartment residents remaining on campus during spring break will need to notify the Complex Office in J2-1.  A list will be generated and shared with University Police Department for usage in the case of an emergency.

 

May/End of Semester

All residence halls and apartments will close on May 14th 2008 at 10am.  Only graduating seniors and commencement volunteers will be permitted to remain in the residential facilities.  Please see the instructions below on moving out.

 

To check out:

  1. Make prior arrangements to be picked up by 10am
  2. Pack all your belongings and remove from your room
  3. The check out process cannot be completed unless the room is completely empty
  4. Contact your RA/CA to return your keys and complete your Residential Property Report (RPR)
  5. Residents also have the option of completing an “express checkout”

FALL CLOSINGS

Thanksgiving Closing

With the exception of PREP housing in Alumni Village, all residence halls and apartments close for the Thanksgiving holiday.  All students are encouraged to make travel arrangements in advance.  Be sure to properly lock all windows and doors.

 

 

December/Winter Recess

With the exception of PREP housing in Alumni Village, all residence halls and apartments close for the winter recess. We expect all our students to make travel arrangements prior to the closing of the residential facilities.

  1. If there is a vacancy in your room, a new student will be assigned to that space. Make sure that the room is clean and that there is an empty dresser, desk, closet and bed for the new student.

 

For security reasons, the key cores on all the entry doors will be changed to prevent unauthorized access to the buildings during the break.

Before leaving for the winter recess, please be sure to complete the following:

  1. Clean and unplug your fridge
  2. Unplug your alarm clocks
  3. Discard all garbage
  4. Lock all windows and doors
