Mozart’s great operatic masterpiece is based on Beaumarchais’ "La Folle Journee, ou le Mariage de Figaro." Figaro, the Count’s valet, is to wed the countess’ maid Susanna. However, Count Almaviva is enamored of Susanna and in his obsession, has forgotten his own wife. He plans to delay the wedding, but Figaro, Susanna and the countess intend to thwart him and have the marriage take place as planned. Madcap events unfold, but, with many twists and turns, all ends well.
