Three-time Purchase College Coach of the Year Peter Nestel returns for his fifth season this winter. Nestel has been Purchase's winningest coach this decade, leading the women's swim team to a conference title (08-09) and a second-place finish (09-10), while also guiding the men's and women's tennis programs to regular postseason berths.

Last year, Nestel led the Panthers to a second-place finish. Under his leadership, Purchase has finished first or second in each of the last three seasons.

He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Economics with a minor in Applied Engineering and Business from SUNY Stony Brook. He is a PTR Certified Tennis Instructor and Tennis Professional, Certified Level I Coach for Triathlon, certified springboard diving coach and swimming coach.

Nestel joined Purchase following a stint at Lawrence University in Wisconsin where he was the head men’s and women’s tennis coach. He coached the women’s tennis team to the Midwest Conference Team championships for the first time in 17 years.

Patricia Orellana joined the Purchase women’s swim coaching staff in 2009-10 a season removed from a fine athletic career for the Panthers. The three-sport athlete was an All-Skyline and HVWAC All-Conference swimmer and an All-Skyline softball player. She was also a member of Purchase’s women's basketball team, which reached the league tournament her senior season.

Orellana lettered in swim and softball, ranking among the top performers in both sports

during her college career at Purchase. The former first baseman was named to the All-Skyline 2nd Team after a strong spring in 2008 and racked up several all-conference nods for the swim team in her final two seasons, dominating in her own individual events and playing a major role in team relays.

Last winter, under her guidance as an assistant, women's swim took second at league championships. This year, she will be the team's top assistant for both the women's and men's programs.

The New York City native is currently working in marketing and splits her time out of the office between coaching youth softball and swim at Purchase.
