What to Expect

Winter Orientation is a 1-day event that takes place on January 22nd, before classes begin.  It is mandatory for all incoming students.  Orientation is one day of fast-paced programming designed to introduce new students to campus life, resources on and off campus, advising/registration, academics and to also meet fellow incoming students!

All students attending will be part of a small group of students with an Orientation Leader (OL) as a guide.  The OL will answer any questions that you have about Purchase and also will get you acquainted with other new students.

Students and Parents should plan to check in between 9:00am-9:30am at the Social Sciences Building Lobby. There will be signs around campus directing you to check-in.  The Orientation concludes by 6:00pm.

RSVP FOR ORIENTATION

Here’s what students have said about International Student Orientation:

“Orientation helped quite a bit in finding each and every building.  It helped in getting to know the College because when I first arrived I was totally lost.” - David Abraham, Undergrad from India

“The orientation was very helpful.   It would have been confusing if we had to figure all this out by ourselves.” - Danny Wei, Graduate student from China

“Since I had never been abroad before, and spoke very little English, I was scared to go to orientation and speak to people.  I’m glad I went because everyone was very nice and helpful and it made things very clear.” - Kit Shan Lee, Undergrad from China

We look forward to seeing you at International Orientation!
