Wednesday August 26: Orientation

International Orientation will provide an important and necessary introduction to many aspects of life at Purchase College and give you the opportunity to get to know one another and adjust to your new surroundings. You will also meet classmates, learn about campus resources, and complete advising/registration. Orientation is required. YES, we are forcing you to have fun!

At Orientation you will have the opportunity to know current students who are there to help you get acclimated to your new environment. The Orientation Leaders serve as the 'know it all's' of campus. They will answer any and all questions about Purchase, help you find your way around campus and encourage you to make friends.

GETTING HUNGRY? You will definitely work up an appetite at Orientation. Don't worry; we've got you covered. All meals are provided to International students during orientation through our wonderful dining facilities.

Please complete the Arrival Confirmation Form to confirm your travel plans by August 3. You will need to sign-in to the form using your Purchase College user name and password.

I never received an email about Orientation. What do I do?
All orientation communications are being sent to your Purchase email account starting in May. If you have checked your purchase email account starting in May and do not have an email, please contact us at (914) 251-6332 or

Where will I be living for the 2015-2016 semester?
Housing assignments will be mailed out by the Office of Residence Life in early-August. If you have any questions about residence life please contact them at (914) 251-6320.

When can I register for classes?
You will be advised and will register for classes during International Orientation in August. If you have any further questions, please contact the Advising Center at (914) 251-3990 or at

Do I need to come to Orientation?
All new students are highly encouraged to attend New Student Orientation. However, we do not force any student to attend. Students who do attend get a chance to make new friends, learn more about what Purchase is all about, begin their academic experience, and have a TON of fun! In addition, any student who doesn't attend is still required to pay orientation fee charged to their Fall bill.

Can I bring a friend with me to Orientation?
No. We do not allow new students to bring friends to orientation. Orientation is your opportunity to meet new students who will become your friends for years to come.

I am having problems setting up my Purchase email account!
Contact CTS at (914) 251-6460 or visit the CTS email website for assistance.

Is Orientation and Welcome Days really that fun? Will I make new friends?
Yes, they are really fun! Students who attend always comment on how it prepared them for their college experience. In addition, some meet their future best friends, classmates, and roommates. The Orientation staff does their best to make it an enjoyable experience, but it is up to YOU as to how fun it will be. You have to take the steps to make the most out of the experience and meet new people!

I have a question that is not listed here!
E-mail or call us at (914) 251-6332.
