I can't attend any of the Transfer Orientation Days.  What should I do?
If you can't attend any of the Transfer Orientation Days or they are filled, please contact the Advising Center at (914) 251-3990 or at advising@purchase.edu.  Please note that if you do not attend a Transfer Day, you will not be able to register for courses until after August 12th, 2013.

I never received an email with information on Advising or Orientation!
All orientation date assignments are being sent to your Purchase email account in Mid-May.  It is also listed on your NextSteps page.  If you have checked your purchase email account in May and do not have an email, please contact Advising at (914) 251-3990 or at advising@purchase.edu

 

What is the fee for Transfer Student Orientation?
The fee for Student Orientation is $155.  It is a mandatory fee that is applied to your Fall semester bill does not need to be paid separately. 

 

Where will I be living for the 2013-2014 semester?
Housing assignments will be mailed out by the Office of Residence Life in early August.  If you have any questions about residence life please contact them at (914) 251-6320.

 

When can I register for classes?
Liberal Arts & Sciences students will register for classes during Transfer Orientation.  Transfer students in Music or Visual Arts will be advised by phone/email between June-July.   If you have any questions prior to your arrival, please contact the Advising Center at (914) 251-3990 or at advising@purchase.edu.

 

Do I need to come to Orientation?
Transfer students are not required to attend Transfer Orientation.  If you cannot make it, please contact the Advising Center at (914) 251-3990 or at advising@purchase.edu to set up a time to register for classes.  Please note that if you do not attend a Transfer Day, you will not be able to register for courses until after August 13th, 2013.

 

Can I bring a friend with me to Orientation?
No.  We do not allow new students to bring friends to orientation.  Orientation is your opportunity to meet new students who will become your friends for years to come.

 

Can I bring my parents to Transfer Orientation?
Yes!  Parents are welcome at Transfer Orientation and we offer sessions specifically for them.  The cost of parent orientation for Transfer Orientation is $20 per parent.  Parents can pre-register using the Transfer Parents link on the main Orientation page.
