Congratulations on your acceptance to SUNY Purchase!
We are excited that you will be joining us in the Fall!
What to Expect
Orientation is two days of fast-paced programming designed to introduce you to campus life, resources on and off campus, academics and most importantly to introduce you to your fellow classmates. Orientation is required. YES, we are forcing you to have fun!
At Orientation you will be part of a small group of 20 students led by an Orientation Leader (OL). OL's serve as the 'know it all's' of campus. They will answer any and all questions about Purchase, help you find your way around campus and encourage you to make friends.
RISE AND SHINE! You and your Parents should plan to check in between 9:00a-10:30am on your designated date. Follow the signs on campus directing you to check-in at the Performing Arts Center. Orientation will wrap up by 12:00pm on the second day.

Movie Review
Every year, as part of the freshmen experience, we choose a film to be viewed and discussed with our entering students.
This year's selection is Beasts of the Southern Wild. Directed by Benh Zeitlin, Beasts of the Southern Wild follows the life of young Hushpuppy. Faced with both her hot-tempered father's fading health and melting ice-caps that flood her ramshackle bayou community and unleash ancient aurochs, six-year-old Hushpuppy must learn the ways of courage and love.
FUN FACT: Purchase College Conservatory of Music graduate, Dan Romer '04, wrote the score for this award-winning film!
Links to view the summer film online will be send to you in the summer. When you come to campus for Welcome Days before classes begin, you will be discussing the film with faculty and staff.
