We offer tutoring in many subjects including, but not limited to: writing (in all subject areas), French, Italian, Hebrew, ESL conversation, calculus, pre-calculus, and math fluency. The Online Writing Lab is also open for submissions.
During the summer, we offer some tutoring, especially in writing. Please get in touch with us to schedule an appointment (Monday - Thursday) or submit to the Online Writing Lab.
Individual Tutoring Sessions (academic year):
One-on-one tutoring is available during
Monday—Friday, 10:00am—5:00pm
Students may schedule up to three appointments per week, in any combination of face-to-face sessions and OWL submissions, though students should not schedule back-to-back appointments with the same tutor. Availability for particular subjects and group sessions depends on tutors’ schedules. Please call 914.251.3996 or stop by Student Services 213 to schedule an appointment.
While you may be able to drop in for an unscheduled appointment, we recommend calling at least one day in advance to secure your session with a tutor.
Students should prepare specific questions and bring the assignment and textbook to the session. Please make appointments at least one day in advance to ensure availability.
Learning Center Resources:
We offer handouts on a variety of subjects and different aspects of the writing process. Come and browse our library for additional help.
Time Management/Study Skills:
Tutors can also provide helpful information concerning time management and study skills. If you are interested in making regular appointments to hold yourself accountable for your work, learn how to utilize reading and note-taking strategies, or create a personal study schedule, please contact Francine Rubin for an appointment (914.251.3997).
