The Mission of the Learning Center at Purchase College – SUNY is to assist students in learning, developing academic skills, and attaining academic success. This mission is achieved by offering a comprehensive system of support including peer tutoring, group sessions, testing accommodations, online tutoring, and specific study skills workshops. To ensure quality support, our tutors are trained and certified according to College Reading and Learning Association guidelines. Our services are available to all Purchase College students.

The Learning Center at Purchase College is one of only eight SUNY tutoring programs to be certified through the internationally recognized College Reading and Language Association (CRLA).

All tutors are recommended by faculty, trained, and certified by CRLA standards. Writing, math proficiency, and foreign language tutoring are available throughout the academic year. Natural Sciences tutoring is available in the Einstein Corner, located in the Natural Sciences Building (3046). Tutoring is also provided for selected courses as need arises. In addition, the staff will assist students in forming a study group for any course the College offers.
