What is the Senior Class Gift?

The Senior Class Gift is a Purchase College tradition where the graduating class donates money, most commonly in the denomination of their class number (this year, $20.09 is the suggested donation) to fund need-based scholarships for members of the next year's class.

A Note From The Senior Class Gift Committee

The class of 2009 has put our all into Purchase College, and during our time here, we have grown into creative, open-minded, intelligent individuals.  Our education at the College has given us countless skills, and our professors have helped shape us into the people we are today.  It's almost shocking to many of us that we will soon depart here, and enter the next phase of our lives.  Whether it will be entering the workforce or continuing our education, we will be heading in many exciting directions.  Each of us will take with us the memories of our alma mater, which has prepared us for whatever life will bring to us.

Purchase College has been an important part of our young lives, a place that many of us happily called "home" for the past few years. In the tradition of classes that have gone before us, we have the opportunity to leave Purchase our own legacy in the form of a Senior Class Gift.  This year, we have experienced the effects of a state-wide tuition increase and we are aware that next year's students will have to shoulder even more of a burden. Ths makes the Senior Gift more important than ever. Purchase College has given us myriad priceless experiences, and we can now help future students have their own. We challenge the class of 2009 to support the Senior Class Gift project as soon-to-be alumni of the College. Our participation should reflect our class' enthusiasm and excellence. With a commemorative $20.09 from each member of our class, we will leave a lasting legacy at our beloved alma mater.

In 2008, the Senior Class Gift Raised $1,064 For a Scholarship.
