Receptionist/Office Assistant

Performing Arts Center

The Receptionist is the initial contact person for all visitors contacting the PAC at Purchase College. It is the responsibility of the receptionist to provide professional, courteous, and effective service.

The receptionist welcomes all who contact The Center, greets and directs visitors, handles incoming calls, processes incoming and outgoing mail, and performs general administrative duties that may include, but are not limited to, word processing, copying, fiing, and general monitoring of the appearance of administrative offices.

Gallery/Workshop

              Neuberger Museum of Art

Under Direction of NMA exhibition department staff the intern may assist in on or more of the following aspects of installation:

    • Workshops and Storage areas: Keep work areas, materials and tools clean and organized, place orders with vendors for materials and supplies, occasional fabrication, lifting and carrying.
    • Gallery Maintenance: Maintain public areas including placing removeing stanchions and other gallery furniture, lighting, painting touch-up to walls and pedestals, cleaning vitrines, picture frams and glazing.
    • Preparator's Office: Update files including reviewing, purging and reorganizing.
    • Shipping and receiving: prepare artworkds for shipment including packing, shipping labels and loading of artwork: receive shipments.
    • Exhibitions: frames, mounts, text, exhibit furniture and installation.

Position requires:

    • The distribution of equipment
    • The monitoring of equipment for repair.
    • The mising of chemistry.
    • The cleaining of the photograpy space.
