The Federal PELL Grant is awarded to eligible students working towards their first bachelors degree. Eligibility is automatically determined based on the Expected Family Contribution (EFC) and enrollment status (full-time, part-time with a minimum of four credits). The maximum Federal Pell Grant award amount is $5,550.00 for the current 11-12 academic year.

Recent federal legislation will affect all students beginning with the 2012-13 year (including Summer 2012), limiting Pell eligibility to the equivalent of 12 full-time semesters (reduced from the prior limit of the equivalent of 18 full-time semesters).
