The following educational programs are offered free of charge for employees and their families through the Employee Assistance Program

English Program:

The EAP English program is run by teacher volunteers from the Purchase College Affiliates, the campus community, and the community at large.  The program teaches and enhances conversational English skills to employees for whom English is a second language.

The English program runs on an academic year schedule, and does not occur during winter and summer breaks.

This program would not be able to continue without the hardwork, dedication, support, and cooperation of the teacher/volunteers, the staff supervisors, and the staff member who assists in translation and scheduling.

Rape Aggression Defense (RAD):

The Rape Aggression Defense (RAD) course is a women-only course that includes awareness, prevention ,risk reduction, risk avoidance, and hands-on defense training.  Upon completion, graduates will receive a completion certificate that enables them to free lifetime return and practice at any time in any location.  For additional information on RAD systems, please click here.

The course is taught by Cindy Markus-Jones as part of the community policing program.  There are no physical fitness or martial arts pre-requisite requirements.  RAD is geared toward the average female.  The classes are run in either one or two sessions per year.
