Since June 1, 2010, the policy of the Career Development Center has been to purge inactive reference files designated as having had “no activity” for 10 consecutive years.   “No Activity” is defined as:

• Having added no new reference letters to your file, or
• Not having your file processed or sent out for graduate, professional school or employment purposes (excluding transferring the file to Interfolio) within the last 10 years.

Only those files indicating activity will continue to be housed at the Career Development Center for a maximum period of 10 years from the date it was started.  Career Development suggests that students/alumni with letters on file create an account with INTERFOLIO, and request to have their letters transferred as soon as possible.
