Purchase Students have several resources available to them as they explore and decide upon their majors.
Purchase College students can learn more about majors and their specific course of study through their academic advisors (If you are not sure who your advisor is, you can check with your academic department. )
If you are a student with an undeclared major and are a freshman, you also might seek the assistance of the Advising Center for guidance. The Purchase College Advising Center works with students and faculty advisors to ensure that all students receive up-to-date and thorough academic advising. There are also Peer Advisors available to further assist you.
Of course, The Career Development Center works closely with students as they explore potential majors and careers. The Career Development Center can help you determine the career options available with various majors. Our resource library has many materials and books to help you focus on major and career and narrow your options. The Career Development Center and the Advising Center have developed “What can I do with a Major in…?" web pages and pamphlets that specifically address LAS majors at Purchase. In addition our Career Handouts and tip sheets are also available for the taking. To gain additional assistance about declaring a major and making career decisions, a career counseling appointment is highly recommended.
