The New York Academy of Sciences is committed to advancing the career of students and postdocs in science, technology, engineering and mathematics; providing seminars, workshops, and career exploration panels throughout the year to cultivate professional skills, illuminate career paths beyond academia, and foster networking for young scientists.
The 2016 Spring Calendar has the following events scheduled:

Adelphi University will be hosting a Graduate Open House: Discover Art Education at Adelphi University
Their upcoming Art Education Open House will be held on Saturday March 5 from 10:30am-1pm in the University Center, 1 South Avenue, Garden City, NY 11530. You can complete your application at this time with a waived application fee, meet program faculty, and explore the arts-rich campus facilities.

The Master of Arts in Art Education at Adelphi University immerses artists in teaching techniques of visual art through flexible evening, online, and weekend courses exploring art instruction in many settings. SAG-AFTRA is announcing their upcoming annual Broadcast Mentoring Program taking place on Saturday, April 16th from 10 am - 5 pm at the SAG-AFTRA New York offices at 1900 Broadway, 5th Floor, NY, NY 10023.
SAG-AFTRA is calling all future television and radio news-persons, reporters, sportscasters, disc jockeys and announcers to this FREE program. Mentors, all of whom are seasoned professionals currently working at New York television and radio stations, will discuss their careers, answer questions and give students individual attention in break-out sessions. This is an invaluable opportunity to meet and learn from some of the best in the field!
The day will consist of panel discussions exploring career paths and getting a job in the competitive world of broadcast, as well as group and individual critiques of demo reels and resumes (bringing materials is optional). Lunch will be provided.
Whether you major in broadcast journalism or communications or just want to learn more about the profession, the annual mentoring program is right for you!
