A large amount of work was completed over the summer months and this past Winter Break. New glass curtain walls have been installed at the Sculpture Courtyard, a number of 2nd floor studios have had their upper monitor/skylights replaced, the Wood Shop and adjoining breezeway have new glass windows, the Maass Gallery has new glass at the plaza level, faculty have moved back into their offices on the upper northwest side of the building, and main entrance now has new pavers as well as new glass curtain walls.
Work continues this Spring, but will be limited to replacement of glass in the hallways and a few select exterior doors, in order to minimize the impact to students and faculty.
The remainder of work will be done this coming summer. The scheduled project completion is August 2013.

The building, originally designed by The Architect's Collaborative, suffers from a number of exterior deterioration issues. This project will address these issues by focusing on the roof leaks and exterior brick and window failures of the building. The work will include replacement of all the exterior windows and doors, and installation of a new roof. The project will also include replacing the glass skylights over the studio spaces and second floor faculty offices, as well as modifying the existing Maass Gallery facade to open the gallery to the Plaza. Additionally, new ‘Green Roofs’ are planned for a large portion of the building and entrance and exit doors will be equipped with new automatic door openers.
