The Advising Center supports and supplements Purchase College’s faculty-based advising program. Staff includes the Director of the Advising Center, a full-time Academic Advisor, along with other support staff. Students at Purchase College are assigned to a faculty advisor upon entrance into the college. Your faculty advisor should be a faculty member under your board of study. While your faculty advisor will be your primary resource for academic advising, we at the advising center can also help you with academic related questions.
The Mission of the Advising Center at Purchase College – SUNY is to provide undergraduate students with strong academic support by providing our students with direction relating to degree programs, career goals, and life goals. This mission is achieved by supplying accurate and timely information on Purchase’s academic requirements, policies, and procedures. We are available to all Purchase students, but are especially focused on providing guidance to students who are undeclared, changing majors, incoming transfer students, or returning to school after a leave of absence.
