IDD Nomination FormImmediate Decision Day
Immediate Decision Day at Purchase College is designed to help students develop a more informed opinion of the college and to accelerate the admission process during a daylong session. This quick, simple, and personalized admissions process is the perfect opportunity for qualified Liberal Arts freshman and transfer applicants for whom Purchase College is a top choice. Offers of admissions made during Immediate Decision Day are non-binding.
IDD Dates: Immediate Decision Day is planned for December 6, 2014. There is no wait list for IDD sessions once they are filled as space is strictly limited. Your Common or SUNY application and all supplemental items must be submitted by November 10, 2014.
Who Should Apply for IDD?
The Office of Admissions at Purchase College seeks to enroll highly motivated, hard-working and academically strong students with a consistent record of achievement in a challenging high school curriculum. Generally, successful freshman applicants have earned a high school GPA of at least 3.0/85 and a combined Critical Reading and Math SAT score of at least 1100 or better (24 ACT composite score). Please review our fact sheet 2012 for more information about the students who have been admitted to the college. Students that do not meet these exact requirements but demonstrate a compelling academic history may still be considered for admission.
All candidates are encouraged to have pursued a rigorous college prep curriculum throughout their entire high school career, enhancing their college preparation through honors courses and Advanced Placement courses.
Please Note- Students applying for admission into our Acting, BFA, Dance BFA, Film BFA, Conservatory of Music programs or Visual Arts BFA programs are not eligible for this event as we cannot offer applications and portfolio reviews on this day.
Things to Consider
The Admissions staff considers achievement, motivation, and intellectual ambition outside of school. We carefully read all application essays and recommendations in order to make a decision on the full student. Students are advised to contact the Admissions Office, or have their college counselor call to speak with an admissions counselor if they have any questions about whether IDD is an appropriate route for them. Both transfer and freshman applicants can be eligible for this event and are encouraged to nominate themselves.
Candidates participate in a seminar conducted by a Purchase faculty member, are interviewed by an Admissions counselor and spend time interacting with current Purchase College students and staff. The Admissions Counselors will provide your admissions decision before the end of the day. Note: Only the College makes an immediate decision; accepted candidates may wait until May 1 to notify the College of their enrollment plans.
