    ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

    Purchase College seeks applicants who are highly motivated, hard-working and academically strong students with a consistent record of achievement in a challenging high school and college curriculum.  These individuals have proven to be well prepared for the rigorous academic coursework required of Purchase College students.  Students will be evaluated on the basis of Purchase College’s general undergraduate admission standards. Generally, successful applicants have earned a college GPA of at least 2.5, high school GPA of at least a 3.0 and a combined Critical Reading and Math SAT score of at least 1100.  

    Note: Transfer students who were enrolled in an Educational Opportunity Program (EOP), Higher Education Opportunity Program (HEOP), College Discovery (CD) or similar special program at their initial college should review the Educational Opportunity Program portion of this website.



    APPLICATION PROCESS

    Please follow all application instructions carefully.  In cases where students fail to follow the requirements and instructions listed here, we cannot guarantee the application can be reviewed and the application may be withdrawn from consideration.  For faster processing of mailed materials, please do not staple items together. 

    Step 1:  Apply online
    Transfer students must apply online using the SUNY Application at www.suny.edu/Student/apply.  PLEASE SELECT ONLY ONE APPLICATION TYPE.  The application fee is $40.

    Step 2: Submit Transcripts and Test Scores
    Request official high school*  and college transcripts from all colleges attended or in which you are currently enrolled be sent directly to:

    *Students with under 24 college credits are required to submit official high school transcripts, SAT and/or ACT, and/or GED scores.  Students who have completed over 24 college credits at the time of application completion may choose to only submit college transcripts, but it is possible the Office of Admissions will request these additional items upon application review.  Students who have taken AP exams should submit all AP scores for evaluation and transfer credit.

    Note:  SAT and AP test scores can be submitted electronically.


    Step 3: Submit the Transfer Supplemental Form.
    See the Transfer Supplemental Form 09-10 for Guidelines.

    Be sure to complete all applicable sections of the form including the required statement.  The supplemental form should be emailed directly to admessay@purchase.edu.
