Admission to the Dramatic Writing B.F.A. Program is highly selective and is based on a required writing portfolio reviewed by the Dramatic Writing Faculty and a review of the students overall application by Admissions.  Only exceptionally talented students who can demonstrate a high level of ability, creativity and commitment in the portfolio will be offered admission. In addition, students will also be evaluated on the basis of Purchase College's general undergraduate admission standards. Purchase College expects applicants to be highly motivated, hard-working and academically strong students with a G.P.A. of at least 3.0 and a combined Verbal and Math SAT score of at least 1100. Students who do not meet these exact requirements, but demonstrate exceptionally strong writing talent may still be considered for admission.  More on general admissions criteria can be found here.

Please note: Admission to the dramatic writing program has been temporarily suspended for the 2010–11 academic year. Admission for the 2011–12 academic year has yet be determined; please check back after June 15, 2010 for more information. Students who are currently enrolled in the dramatic writing program will able to finish their degree in the normal fashion.
