Excursions

Students will take weekly excursions to sights in the Shanghai vicinity and will enjoy the art, architecture and history of Shanghai.  In addition, the program will begin with a full week trip to more remote areas of China -- visiting such cities as Kunming and Lijiang, experiencing the high foothills of the Himalayas and an ancient, but still functioning, matriarchal village, Snow Mountain, as well as the Tibetan cultural center of Shangrila.  The trip will be an experience few tourists get to enjoy.

                                                                                                                                                                             All travel will be by soft-seat sleeper train, comfortable bus, or plane. Local guides will provide tours in each location. Accomodations will be at 3-star hotels, and most meals will be included.
