Freshman & Sophomore Years
Successful completion of these three courses is required for advanced standing in the major:
- PSY 1530/Introduction to Psychology
- One psychology elective
- PSY 2320/Behavioral Statistics
Recommended:
- One biology course
- One anthropology/sociology course
- One philosophy course
- Possibly 1-2 upper-level psychology electives
- Core curriculum requirements
PSY 2320/Behavioral Statistics is normally taken during the sophomore year. PSY 3550/Experimental Psychology may be taken in the spring of sophomore year, if advanced standing has been achieved.
Junior Year
- Fall semester: PSY 3550/Experimental Psychology* (can be taken in the spring of the sophomore year)
- Fall semester: PSY 3890/Psychology Junior Seminar*
- Spring semester: PSY 3660/Physiological Psychology
*Prerequisite: Advanced standing
Recommended:
- Two or more upper-level psychology electives
- Remaining general education requirements
Senior Year
- PSY 4990/Senior Project (two semesters)
- PSY 4880 and 4890/Psychology Senior Seminar I and II
- Remaining upper-level psychology electives
- Other remaining requirements
