Walter M. Soto, Biology Major

“Thus far, I am going through exciting times in my career, I graduated with a degree in Biology in 2004 and began working in the microbiology department for a medical lab where I learned and practiced a lot of techniques dealing with the isolation and identification of microbes and fungi. This experience fueled my interest to pursue the field further. In , 2005 I was hired by Taconic Biotechnology as a supervisor of the Quality Control department where I am currently holding the senior supervisor position. My academic plans were temporarily placed on hold due to the challenges of my new position and the blessing of the birth of my daughter. I am currently exploring the possibility of continuing my academic endeavor looking into getting a masters degree in molecular microbiology.”
