The 33rd annual Natural & Social Sciences Student Symposium will be held on May 3rd, 2014.
Showcasing the Sciences at Purchase College
Begun in 1981, the annual Student Symposium provides an opportunity for seniors to present their senior project research to a large audience of peers, alumni, family, faculty, and members of the community. Two concurrent sessions in anthropology, biochemistry, biology, chemistry, economics, environmental studies, gender studies, Latin American studies, mathematics/computer science, political science, psychology, and sociology take place throughout the morning, followed by light refreshments. Seniors who participate in the symposium consider it a highlight of their undergraduate experience.
Here's what one past participant said about her experience:
"I highly recommend anyone who gets offered to be a presenter at the Student Symposium to go for it. I wasn't sure if I should at first, but it was another great experience and it taught me a lot about public presentations, which are very important, especially in the research sciences."
