Prospective Students: The Biology Program

The Biology Program at Purchase College may be pursued from a variety of perspectives, and our majors are well prepared for graduate school, medical school and other health programs, teaching, and careers with high-tech industries. In consultation with a faculty advisor, students shape their programs by choosing advanced subjects related to their particular objectives. Graduate schools to which our alumni have gone include Harvard, Yale, and University of Pennsylvania.

Natural Sciences Learning Community

For additional information contact james.daly@purchase.edu Please also check out the Learning Community page This is an exciting learning opportunity for freshman students with a special interest in the Natural Sciences, especially Biology. The goals of this Learning Community are to introduce students in both a formal and informal way to the study of Biology, to help them excel in their courses, and to provide a framework in which students can connect with other students who share an interest in Biology. Faculty and students will be able to participate, in settings outside of the traditional classroom, in activities that provide informal ways of studying Biology.

Excellent faculty, superb teaching, interesting and demanding courses, and respected research, all characterize our program.

  • Beautiful environment
Beautiful campus on a former estate, interesting students in the sciences, liberal arts, and visual and performing arts, Neuberger Museum of Art and Performing Arts Center on campus, and excellent gym and pool facilities, all combine to make Purchase an exciting college, and close enough for afternoon or evening trips into Manhattan.
