Summer 2015 Precollege Programs in the Arts:
How to Register

Nonrefundable Registration Fee
In addition to the tuition or refundable deposit, a nonrefundable $25 registration fee is required when you receive the bill. Please pay upon receipt of your bill.

Tuition Deposits and Balances
A nonrefundable tuition deposit is required when you receive the bill (per program, student, and session where noted):

  • Precollege Programs: $500*
    *The following programs have $300 tuition deposits: Creative Vocal Lab, Vocal Intensive, Project Fashion Designer, Shakespeare Workshop, Songwriting Workshop, Video Game Creators and Animators, Minecraft™ Designers and Modders, and Code Breakers and App Designers, Journalism Institute
  • Early Drop-Off Option: $100
  • Extended-Day Option: $100

The balance of payment is due by Friday, May 29, 2015. Students with outstanding balances after May 29 risk losing their registration confirmation. Registrations will be accepted until programs are full.

Required Forms for All Precollege Programs
Health Form: This form must be completed and signed by a parent or guardian and accompanied by a (camp/school) health form with immunization history signed by your family physician before your child may begin his or her program.

Register Early!
Registration begins on February 2, 2015 and is on a first-come, first-served basis. Because of anticipated demand and limited space, we encourage you to register early. Register and pay tuition in full by May 8, 2015 to receive the 10% early-registration discount!

Discounts

  • A family enrolling more than one student in any summer precollege or youth program may enroll the second (and third) student at the second-child discounted rate.
  • A family enrolling the same child in more than one program may apply the second-child discount to the second (and third) registrations.
  • The 10% early-registration discount applies only for registrations received and tuition paid in full by May 8, 2015.
  • Purchase College employees and alumni receive the same discounted rate.

Summer 2015 Precollege Programs in the Arts:
Refund Policy and Schedules

To guarantee parents and their children the summer program of their choice, we make decisions regarding our summer programs one month in advance. We hire instructors and teaching assistants and buy supplies based on the number of registered students. Therefore, we must adhere to the following refund policy and schedules to ensure that approved programs remain viable.

A full refund (including tuition deposit and registration fee) is automatically granted if a program is canceled or closed to further enrollment by the college. Otherwise, the refund amount (minus the nonrefundable tuition deposit and $25 registration fee) is determined by the date a written withdrawal request is received from the parent or guardian, according to the following schedules:

For programs beginning June 29, 2015, written withdrawal requests received:
By May 29: 100%*
Between May 30 and June 12: 75%*
Between June 13 and June 29: 50%*
No refunds available for withdrawal requests received after June 29.
*Excluding the nonrefundable tuition deposit and $25 registration fee.

For programs beginning July 13, 2015, written withdrawal requests received:
By June 12: 100%*
Between June 13 and June 26: 75%*
Between June 27 and July 13: 50%*
No refunds available for withdrawal requests received after July 13.
*Excluding the nonrefundable tuition deposit and $25 registration fee.

For programs beginning July 27, 2015, written withdrawal requests received:
By June 26: 100%*
Between June 27 and July 10: 75%*
Between July 11 and July 27: 50%*
No refunds available for withdrawal requests received after July 27.
*Excluding the nonrefundable tuition deposit and $25 registration fee.

Refunds for credit card payments are automatically credited to the cardholder’s account. Please allow up to 6–8 weeks for refund check processing from the date a written request is received.

SCHEDULE and OTHER CHANGES
Purchase College reserves the right to cancel or combine any course or program for which the enrollment is deemed insufficient or for other administrative reasons. The scheduled faculty and electives are subject to change, pending sufficient enrollment. Facilities and equipment, including software, are also subject to change.
