we raise funding for especially talented students with an especially large financial need. We assist to fund their education by depositing additional scholarship money to the office of student accounts on behalf of the dancers so they can finish their degree in our wonderful program. This year 2001-2002, seven dancers were successfully adopted! "We will follow them through their career at Purchase and after they graduate. " say their Friends of Dance benefactors.</p> <p align="center"><br> <i><b>Friends of Dance<br> =<br> Scholarship Assistance</b></i></p> <p align="center">Friends of Dance annual membership dollars contribute to scholarships for our beautiful dancers. Dean Walker distributes the funds at her discretion to students who need assistance, have an emergency arise, don't receive as much financial aid as they had hoped, etc. It is an indispensable help for Conservatory of Dance students.</p> <p align="center"><br> <i><b>Friends of Dance<br> =<br> Purchase Dance Corps Concerts</b></i></p> <p align="center">Performance is a key part of our dancers' education. The quality of repertory they perform here is a major factor in the success of our alumni. To ensure the quality of education for our students Friends of Dance funds have been used - to pay for the costumes for a ballet - to help pay the licensing fees for a major piece of choreography for the concert - to commission a new work for the Purchase Dance Corps.</p> <p align="center"><br> <i><b>Friends of Dance<br> =<br> International Tours</b></i></p> <p align="center">Friends of Dance have directly contributed or he helped to raise funding for the Purchase Dance Corps International Tours.</p> <p align="center"><br> <i><b>Friends of Dance<br> =<br> Nutcracker Boutique</b></i></p> <p align="center">Friends of Dance run the annual boutique in the lobby of the Performing Arts Center during the Conservatory of Dance Nutcracker performances . The $4000.00 netted from our boutique are applied directly to the Conservatory of Dance Nutcracker scholarship fund for the students.</p> <p align="center"><br> <i><b>Friends of Dance<br> =<br> Audience Development</b></i></p> <p align="center">Friends of Dance assist the Conservatory program with audience development for the Purchase Dance Corps Concerts. We invite 'new' friends to join us at dinner prior to the performance.
