ON-CAMPUS:

Express Decision Portfolio Review Day
February 3, 2012

Online registration for this event will be available beginning January 16 and will close on Thursday, February 2 at 12noon -

The Purchase College February Portfolio Review Day is open only to those who have applied for admission to the School of Art+Design for the upcoming Fall 2012 semester.  Applicants are required to make a reservation through their myPurchase accounts. 

This event provides students applying to the School of Art+Design an opportunity to show their work in its original format and visit with the professors they will be having for classes. Students are required to bring examples of their original art work. Students can also bring materials, such as the slide/CD portfolio, letters of recommendation, essay, etc. that they need to finish their application to the School.

Participation in our Portfolio Review Days is not mandatory, but highly recommended. Participants will receive final application decisions within 5 business days of the review!

Confirmed registrants are asked to check-in to the Visual Arts Building, Room 1016, 15 minutes before your assigned time.

In addition to the Portfolio Reviews, prospective students have the opportunity to meet faculty and current students, tour the Visual Arts Building as well as the enitre campus, meet the Director of the School, and ask questions to representatives from Residence Life, Career Services, and Admissions. Please see the schedule of events for the day below:

10:30am, 12:30pm, & 2:00pm

PLEASE NOTE THAT YOU SHOULD BRING YOUR ORIGINAL ARTWORK, and any sketchbooks/journals you have.  We will not keep your original work, sketchbooks, or journals.  If your work requires a computer to be seen, please bring a laptop with you.

IMPORTANT: ALL APPLICATIONS MUST BE COMPLETED WITH THE FINAL PORTFOLIO SUBMITTED ONLINE BY FEBRUARY 15. ALL STUDENTS WHO ATTEND THIS PORTFOLIO REVIEW DAY ARE STILL REQUIRED TO SUBMIT THEIR FINAL PORTFOLIO IMAGES ONLINE AT HTTP://PURCHASE.SLIDEROOM.COM. YOU MAY SUBMIT YOUR ONLINE PORTFOLIO AFTER YOU ATTEND THIS EVENT SO THAT YOU MAY INCORPORATE FEEDBACK FROM OUR FACULTY. STUDENTS WHO DO NOT SUBMIT A FINAL PORTFOLIO AT HTTP://PURCHASE.SLIDEROOM.COM WILL BE CONSIDERED INCOMPLETE AND WILL BE WITHDRAWN FROM CONSIDERATION.

New York City Area National Portfolio Day

SKIP THE REGISTRATION LINE: PRE-REGISTER FOR THE EVENT HERE

Follow the signs and staff member directions to the registration tables in the lower lobby of the Performing Arts Center. All parking will be in campus lots W1 and W2. Registration for the event will begin at 9am (doors WILL NOT be open before). The location of the schools, the tours, etc. will be provided during registration.

PRE-EVENT ACTIVITIES

  • Art+Design Building Tours - An in-depth look at the facilities offered at the Purchase College School of Art+Design - Tours depart every 10 minutes, between 9:30am-11:30am
  • Campus Tours - This comprehensive tour included classroom buildings, residence halls, dining facilities, the library, and more - Tours depart every 10 minutes, between 9:30am-11:30am
  • School of Art+Design Information and Q&A Session with the Director at 10:30am

PORTFOLIO REVIEWS run from 12 NOON to 4pm. As is the case with all National Portfolio Days, reviews are granted on a first come, first served basis.

OPTIONAL PRE-REGISTRATION: You have the option to pre-register for the day, but pre-registration is not required. Students who do pre-register online can bring their printed confirmation of pre-registration to the event for express entry to the portfolio day.  To pre-register, please click here.
