As the semester winds down, and your work winds up, consider taking your coffee to the Clearview Lounge!
Many of you have already seen the architectural prints now hanging there. If you haven't, be sure to drop by and have a look.
They are reproductions from the 1971 MoMA exhibition catalogue, "Architecture for the Arts: The State University of New York College at Purchase." Information about architects and the uses they originally imagined for many of the spaces we know is posted as well.
The exhibition was conceived, designed and produced with the incredibly generous help of Tracy Fitzpatrick (Assistant Professor of Art History and Curator, Neuberger Museum of Art), Heather Saunders (Art Librarian), Stacy Koon (MFA Student in Art History), Katie Karkheck (Freelance Art Handler), John Mastracchio (Printmaking Instructional Support Specialist, School of Art + Design), and Ravi Rajan (Interim Dean, School of Art + Design).
Use of the lounge has picked up significantly since this summer's renovations. We hope the MoMA prints will entice even more of you to spend time there, using the lounge for informal gatherings, lunches with job candidates, afternoon grading, and unplanned encounters with colleagues.
A final thanks again to everyone who contributed energy and resources to the project, including those above but also Bob Thompson, Bill Guerrero, and Nick Mennillo.
