Step Up is a unique program opportunity that takes place during the "Picture Yourself at Purchase" LAS Open House in March. Specific information for first generation college students and their parents is offered throughout the Open House event.
First generation students are an important population in our student body! Defined as the first in their family to attend college, the journey of navigating the college environment and achieving success just became a bit easier with the assistance of the Step Up Program.
Additionally, there is an extended program following the Open House that involves more intimate and personalized dialogues with various College representatives and current Purchase students- all with the intent of providing valuable resource information and a sincere line of communication to us!
The extended program begins right at the conclusion of the LAS Open House at 12:45pm with a luncheon followed by workshops and a campus tour. The extended program will conclude at 3pm.
A truly unique feature of the program is a transportation option for Step Up participants using the MetroNorth railroad system. The College will arrange for both pick up at 8am and drop off at 3pm!
Please note that only registered participants of the STEP UP program are eligible to use this special transportation option.
