The Society holds a variety of events each semester to meet our mission: Orientation, Leadership Training Day, Speaker Events, Success Networking Team Meetings, and Induction.
These events are structured to do the following:
Orientation: Set the standard for the semester and explain the process of attaining membership. Executive Board members introduce themselves to new pending members, arrange committee sign-ups, form Success Networking Team groups, identify meeting times and announce the schedule of events for the coming semester.
Leadership Training Day (LTD): A team building experience for new members to embark on a leadership journey together. The LTD is comprised of intense instruction that includes both DVD and peer-to-peer components. The LTD focuses on exploring challenges, recognizing strengths, identifying passions, and setting up personal plans to achieve goals. Through the LTD members have the opportunity to engage in serious self-discovery regarding future goals and methods of achieving them. It also serves as an opportunity for members to interact with one another on a deep level. The LTD is a pivotal component of acquiring beneficial leadership and success skills.
Speaker Events: Three live speaker events are broadcasted to chapters via internet each semester, unless the chapter's university is chosen to host the speaker broadcast, which then members would be able to attend in person. These presentations are a vital component of the leadership training that members receive, with topics as diverse as effective money management techniques, cutting edge internet networking tools, and personal health and wellness for a lifetime of achievement. Past speakers have included Patch Adams, Goldie Hawn, Jack Canfield, Stephen Covey, and Wally Amos (Famous Amos) discussing how to create vision, identify and work towards goals, and successfully transition from college to career. While Orientation, LTD, and SNT events are restricted to society members, the speaker events are open to anyone on campus or in the greater community that would like to participate. To respect scheduling difficulties, members may access speaker events via Video-on-Demand, which will benefit non-traditional and commuter students.
Success Networking Team Meetings (SNT): The SNT concept is based on Napoleon Hill's research on the most successful people in our country. Hill worked with and interviewed Thomas Edison, Woodrow Wilson, Andrew Carnegie and numerous others. Through his study, Hill discovered that many of his participants created a support team network with which they regularly met to share ideas and hold each other accountable for achieving goals. Today, highly successful people around the world routinely use Success Network Teams to foster great achievement.
The SNT meetings are one of the vital components that inspire and encourage members to achieve individual and group success. Within their SNT meetings, members discuss the speaker presentations, set goals based upon what they've learned and where they are in their individual progress, and hold one another accountable for completing the action steps necessary to achieve their goals. Through the SNTs, members develop crucial skills in leadership and success, skills which include self-awareness, supporting others, directing action, effective meetings, networking, working in teams, holding oneself accountable, and more.
After each SNT meeting, members submit their meeting report through the Members' Area of the society website. This report is reviewed by the Advisor and may receive constructive coaching before it is approved. The National Office works with Advisors to make sure that members are given valuable feedback and coaching to maximize the impact of the SNTs, and ensure that all members have fully committed to making personal changes of a significant nature.
Induction: Chapter members, upon attending Orientation, the LTD, at least three Speaker Events, and at least three SNT meetings are then inducted as society members on the national scale (with a one-time fee of $75). Friends and family are invited to the induction ceremony to see your accomplishments and to celebrate your success. Most members accomplish the required steps necessary for induction within one semester, but have no limit to the time in which they take to reach induction.
