A MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT...
During our first fory years of existence, the College has satisfied its founders' intention of bringing two styles of education-traditional liberal arts and sciences programs and conservatory-based artsi programs-into close contact on one campus, and inspiring an appreciation for both intellectual and artistic talents in all students. I recently remakred at the Convocation address that we are now in the midst of our institution's second founding, one that builds from our initial foundation and that employs a focus on collaboration and innovative learning.
Civic engagement is a national agenda item to which our College is deeply committed, as exemplified by its reference in the recently completed Strategic Plan for 2010-2015. Attaching substance to the gradual yet assertive implemention of service and civic engagement is a campus-wide effort, with the primary outcome being graduates of both sound character and leadership and ready to contribute as citizens in a global society.
