Making Lists

With summer's end and a new semester underway, college rankings are beginning to appear. So far, Purchase College has made four lists worth crowing about.

US NEWS & WORLD REPORT BEST COLLEGES 2013
US News & World Report released its 2013 rankings of Best Colleges and Purchase College earned #9 on the list of Top Public Schools among national Liberal Arts colleges. It also makes the lists of Best National Liberal Arts Colleges and the schools most recommended by high school guidance counselors.

THE PRINCETON REVIEW'S BEST 377 COLLEGES
According to a survey by The Princeton Review that asked 122,000 students at 377 top colleges to rate their schools on dozens of topics and report on their opinions and campus experiences at them, Purchase makes the grade.

COOLEST SCHOOLS
The Sierra Club surveyed four-year schools to discover which ones are "greenest." It's no surprise that Purchase made this list.

According to its website, "The magazine's ranking aims to act as a guide for prospective students who seek a way to compare colleges based on their commitment to environmentalism. It also serves to spur competition, create aspirational standards, and publicly reward the institutions that work hard to protect the planet."

MOST LIBERAL COLLEGES 2012
Newsweek partnered with College Prowler to determine the most liberal colleges in the country and Purchase made the short list at No. 13.
