Kyle Abraham '00 To Win Jacob's Pillow Award

Citing his creativity, charisma and insight, Jacob's Pillow Dance announced that acclaimed contemporary dancer and choreographer Kyle Abraham '00 will receive The Jacob's Pillow Dance Award.

Honoring outstanding, visionary dance artists, the award carries a prize of $25,000. Abraham is the artistic director ofAbraham.In.Motion, and has attracted many accolades and awards for his dancing and choreography recently, including a 2010 Bessie Award for Outstanding Performance in Dance for his work in The Radio Show, a Jerome Foundation Travel and Study Grant, and inclusion in Dance Magazine's "25 to Watch" list, among others.

Abraham commented, "Jacob's Pillow is the ultimate resource for imagination, inspiration and artistry. Receiving this award is something that goes far beyond what I could have ever imagined for myself at this stage of my career."

Abraham will accept the award at Jacob's Pillow 80th Anniversary Gala on June 16, 2012.
