PRESIDENT THOMAS J. SCHWARZ TO PARTICIPATE IN VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN CONFERENCE

Date Released: 11/14/2005

The conference will be held at The Performing Arts Center from 8:30 AM to 12 noon. This second annual conference is co-sponsored by My Sister’s Place and features Mario Bosquez, co-anchor of New York “CBS News This Morning” and author of “The Chalupa Rules.” President Schwarz will give opening remarks along with Westchester County Executive Andrew J. Spano and New York Football Giants star Tiki Barber, who will give a video welcome. Admission is free and complimentary breakfast and lunch will be served. Hundreds of men and women are expected to gather for a morning of interactive education about domestic violence and strategies involving men’s involvement in the solution of this pervasive and devastating problem. Trainers Ted Bunch and Tony Porter will share their expertise on men’s responsibility for ending violence against women and will challenge well-meaning men to think about and address the issue. Members of the Purchase Sophomore Acting Company will dramatize scenarios of the issues being discussed. For more information, call My Sister’s Place at 914-683-1333 ext. 119.
