Ambrose Akinmusire is a Blue Note recording artist who has been named one of the Faces to Watch in 2011 by the Los Angeles Times. He will perform The Touch of Your Lips, Secret Heart, Isotope and other selections. His music, according to the Los Angeles Times is “remarkably fluid, adventurous…and hard-wired with the sound of something new.”
Conductor Todd Coolman is Professor of Music and Director of the Jazz Studies Program at Purchase College. A two-time Grammy winner, he has recorded and performed with many of the greatest jazz artists and recorded three CDs as a leader. He performed as bassist with the late James Moody for 26 years and travelled the world with him. He performed on the James Moody album “4B” which won a Grammy this year for “Best Jazz Instrumental Recording of the Year.” Coolman is an educator, author, and an in demand clinician and lecturer at universities throughout the world.
